We are unable to open our lovely York shop at the moment due to the Covid 19 restrictions.
But there are two ways we can help you online.
You can order books on this website for delivery or collection from the shop, just go to the shop section below, choose and we will send you payment details and can deliver free in York.
If the book you want is not there, email us and we will track it down for you.

You can also see more books at our page on bookshop.org via the link below.
This is for a wide range of readership not just children and at competitive prices, but not trying to destroy the High Street.
We have recommendations on there from Barack Obama (no, really) as well as childrens' classics, cookery, mystery and cricket book suggestions.
The site supports independent bookshops, and we get a commission on what you buy through this link, so please do have a look.
We want our business to be as environmentally friendly as we can.
Whilst we believe that books are really important, there are costs involved in physically creating them.
So we support the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust with a percentage of our sales recycled to support tree planting in Yorkshire.
Do click below if you want to know more or to support the charity yourselves in their work across North Yorkshire and beyond.
The Blue House Bookshop lives on Bootham in York, the street of merchants alongside the ancient site of St Mary's Abbey.
Our back wall is the former Abbey wall and the rest of our building was added in Tudor times.
The books are new.
We are commited to the pleasure and knowledge reading books gives each one of us, young and old. We are likewise committed to making our business as sustainable and green as we can. So part of the sale of each book we donate to Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust to help with tree planting in North Yorkshire, Together for Trees.
Trees for people
Trees do amazing things for our minds and our bodies. Together for Trees aims to reach disadvantaged people who live with poverty, social isolation, disabilities or mental health problems to give them the chance to experience and enjoy our woodlands.
Trees for the environment
Planting trees is one of the best things we can do to help combat climate change. Yet as much as 80% of the world’s forests have been destroyed or irreparably degraded and our remaining woodlands are under threat from disease and poor management. Your support can help care for our existing woodlands and plant new trees for the future.
Trees are hugely valuable as a habitat for wildlife. One single oak tree can support up to 284 species of insects. We need to increase native broadleaf cover in the Yorkshire Dales - which is currently only 2.7% - to protect endangered species of wildlife like the red squirrel, dormouse and cuckoo.
By helping with tree planting, we give back to the environment for future generations to enjoy.
We love our shop and our customers! Do you have a question? Are you looking for a book to buy that isn't in our shop? Drop us a line anytime, and we will get back to you with answers and suggestions! Feel free to visit during normal business hours - or book a time for your family to come and browse alone.
We are closed at the shop but you can buy online
You can Click and Collect at the shop when you buy here and include that on your order form, or we can deliver for free if you live in York. Or search here https://uk.bookshop.org/shop/thebluehousebookshop for all books at a competitive discount at a site that supports us and other independent bookshops.
