Buying our books:

We are part of bookshop.org which supports independent bookshops online. You can get to our page HERE

If you want to order a book to collect from the shop, or delivered in York for free, just email us with details: karen@thebluehousebookshop.co.uk

School discounts:

We support the Reading For Pleasure initiative encouraging children to read just for the fun of it. We knock money off for bulk purchases, 20% off the first order and 15% off further orders. We also offer pop up shops for Parents’ Evenings and school fairs where the school gets a percentage of sales to use towards buying more books for the school through our shop.

Subscription service:

We have launched a subscription service for children which makes a great birthday or Christmas present. They get three or six months of the latest published books home delivered. For more on this click HERE

Courses and events:

The top floor of the building is our writers' attic and we run creative writing courses for 8-13 year olds.  Sarah Williams coordinates all our courses and they usually take place at half term or school holidays, though sometimes we have a run of weekend courses too.  Find out more HERE

The top floor of our building lends itself to being a lovely writing space. If you are a writer, come along and use the space there’s coffee and tea available and hopefully the room may inspire you.

Subscribe to our Newsletter:

We send a monthly newsletter which you can sign up for HERE The email comes to you at the turn of the month and we will send a reminder mid-month of any events coming up. That’s all!

Blogs and interviews coming soon:

We will have a number of author interviews recorded and we will also include some bookish blogs which you can read HERE.  This section will be ready in 2025.
